Why do we raise these beautiful Black German Shepherds in Montana?

Monique
with Duke and Akja
Montana is a natural setting to raise Black German Shepards as working dogs.
Black German Shepherds are very intelligent and good natured. They are extremely trainable and we start their training very early in the dog’s life. We also expect our customers will continue this training. A Black German Shepherd will cost you up into the thousands of dollars and the darker the color of his coat and the more luxurious it is, the higher the price is for the dog. There is not much that the Black German Shepherd cannot be trained for.
The Black German Shepherd has retained the more traditional look of a German Shepherd through the years. This is one of the main differences between the Black German Shepherd and the regular German Shepherd.
The Black German Shepherd is also larger with a much straighter back and it does not "cringe". Cringing is an appearance that is common to German Shepherds.
The coat of a Black German Shepherd can be long or short. It can also have feathering and skirting with a flowing mane.
These dogs are very good-natured dogs and are very loyal to their owners. They very rarely ever back down and are very self-assured and watchful dogs. Their training should begin when they are at a young age, as these dogs are very trainable. Hip and elbow dysplasia is a concern among All German Shepherds and a careful watch for this is important for the dog owner.
We do not currently have a breeding pair but Duke is available for stud service please go to his page for all his information.
